If you're a Mizzou Tiger Fan and haven’t decided who to root for in this year’s Super Bowl, Mizzou football coach Gary Pinkel has a suggestion.

Pinkel said he's proud that former Mizzou players Justin Smith and Aldon Smith play for the San Francisco 49ers.

Pinkel said he has been in close contact with these two NFL stars through text messages. He added that Aldon Smith was voted this year’s MVP by his teammates and Justin Smith was voted this year’s MVP by his coaching staff.

“Mizzou has had a huge impact on the San Francisco 49s," Pinkel said. "I’m so proud of both of them. They are on the big stage. During your whole life, you look forward to that opportunity.  hey will be great ambassadors for Mizzou for a long time.”

The two players recently played three other former Mizzou players during a playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Coach Pinkel said he texted all five players before the game to say he would not commit to either team.
