JEFFERSON CITY-- Superbowl Sunday is quickly approaching, and aside from the game itself and the highly-anticipated commercials, food tops the list of most important things needed to enjoy the day.
One Jefferson City sports bar is using the huge sports day to raise money for charity.
J-Pfenny's Sports Grill and Pub is teaming up with the American Heart Association and Hawthorn Bank to raise money for the American Heart Association's Heart Ball.
General Manager Jay Cheshire talked about what went in to planning the event.
"I've donated the food, they've donated some of the publicity, the advertising. We're going to do some giveaways...we're pushing for about 100, 150 people, we'll see what the turnout is this year. This is the first time we're doing it and I'm really excited by it," he said.
Cheshire said this is an event that has been in the works for months, and actual preparations will begin as early as Monday.
He also said they've already sold around fifty tickets. You can purchase tickets through any of the sponsors.
