The future of a mid-Missouri power plant is up in the air.
The employees at the Chamois Power Plant were told their jobs could be in jeopardy.
Don Shaw is the CEO of Central Electric Power Cooperative, which owns the plant. He sad they're currently looking at the viability of the plant
A proposed EPA regulation would mandate an $8 million stack to be built on the 66 megawatt plant.
Shaw said it may not make economic sense to invest such an expensive improvement in a small plant like the one in Chamois.
He wants to have a decision for the plant's 30 employees this spring.
There will be a meeting to discuss the issue Jan 31. at 6:30 p.m. at the Chamois Community Center.
