Armed robber nabbed after months on the loose

COLUMBIA --

After seven months on the loose, a teen was arrested for an armed robbery in Columbia.

Authorities arrested Domionte Cheatum Wednesday at about 5 p.m. in Boone County.

Columbia Police said 19-year-old Cheatum was involved in an armed robbery in the 3300-block of Jamesdale Drive on May 18, 2012.

Police said Cheatum and Vernon Jordan, who was arrested in August, approached a car, pointed handguns at the a man and woman and stole their money.

Cheatum was arrested on charges of armed criminal action, first degree robbery and possession of controlled substance. 

Vernon Jordan was identified through a photo line-up and was arrested in August in the 1600 block of Sylvan Lane.

He's charged with first degree robbery and armed criminal action.
