A Columbia man is facing multiple drug-related charges after police discovered a marijuana growing operation in his house Friday.

Brenner Dawson, 32, was arrested on two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance and one count of distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce of a controlled substance.

Police responded to a call to 314 North Eighth Street, apartment A, around 1 p.m. Friday and smelled fresh marijuana when Dawson opened the door.

Officers saw marijuana buds in plain view in the living room.

A search warrant revealed over 70 marijuana plants along with equipment to grow and harvest the plants.

Police also found psychedelic mushrooms and loose marijuana.
