COLUMBIA, Mo -- A legendary Columbia restaurant celebrated 50 years, and, as usual, it was packed house.

Heildelburg restaurant, is right across 9th street from the University of Missouri ---they celebrated half a century in business today.

They did it in the only way they know how: good cake, good drinks, good food, and good people.

One of the restaurant's owners told us how his dad started the restaurant.

"My father started the restaurant in 1963,” said Richard Walls. “He had three partners that were interested in opening a new restaurant and asked him to be the managing partner and run the restaurant, and our family's worked here since we opened basically."

In addition to food and drinks, the restaurant held a raffle for a fat tire bicycle, with all the proceeds going to the Joyce Walls scholarship fund.
