Calvin Hutson has been charged with second degree murder, among others, for the death of Andre Hudson. A press release said Hutson remains at University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A third suspect, 20-year-old Justin Lamar Beasley of Jefferson City, was the driver of the vehicle. He turned himself in to detectives. Multpile charges have been requested against him, including second degree murder.

Jefferson City police said 41-year-old Andre Hudson of Holts Summit was found dead in the back seat of the Dodge Stratus they stopped Thursday night in the 300 block of Schroeder Way .

They also said a blood trail led them to the second victim, 35-year-old Calvin Hutson of Jefferson City.  Police found Hutson in the 300 block of W. Dunklin Street.

On Thursday at 7:22 p.m. Jefferson City Police Officers went to the 300 block of Schroeder Way in response to a 9-1-1 call about a shooting that had just occurred.

Upon arrival officers stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of Schroeder Way.

One subject ran from the area of the vehicle but was lost after a brief foot chase.

Inside the vehicle officers found one male subject in the back seat with gunshot wounds.

The subject was deceased.

A second victim of the shooting was located in the 300 block of W. Dunklin St. by officers following a blood trail from the original scene.

This subject was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital and then was taken by a Staff for Life helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of gunshot wounds.

At this time detectives are interviewing witnesses about the shooting.

The investigation is continuing.
