JEFFERSON CITY, Mo -- For many folks who opened there gifts at Christmas, their favorite present might have been a new iPad or Xbox.

But for one new Missouri mother, her present was a new bundle of joy.

Newborn Lucy Lou Price came into the world at Capital Region hospital in Jefferson City on December 25th.

Her mother, Michaela Ward of Owensville, said she expected to give birth early, but said that Lucy was determined to be born on Christmas Day.

And, she says, she couldn't think of a better way to spend Christmas Day.

"Nobody wants to spend Christmas in the hospital, but having a bundle of joy as a gift is more than worth it," Ward said.

The baby is still at the hospital with her mother tonight and she is reportedly very popular with capital region staff.
