Boone County traffic stop turns into high-speed chase, crack bust

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. -- The Boone County sheriff's department is reporting that they have one man in custody  after a high-speed chase Sunday morning.

Deputies say they tried stopping a speeding driver around the 5000 block of Clark Lane at 1:00 A.M. Sunday morning.  The driver did not pull over, and deputies continued to purse the driver.

The pursuit ended in the area of Vandiver Drive and Parker Street.

The driver, 47-year-old Henry Wilson of Columbia was arrested on scene, where deputies also found an amount of individually packaged crack cocaine.

After Wilson was taken into custody, he was charges with Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, Driving while Intoxicated, 1st offense,  Driving while Suspended, 2nd offense, Failure to yield to an Emergency vehicle, and speeding.

Wilon is currently in Boone County jail on  a $1290 bond total for all charges except possession. That bond amount is pending until approval by a judge.
