The Columbia Fire Department has given the all clear after a power outage at Mill Creek Elementary School on Nifong Boulevard.

According to school officials, the power went out for a short time. But when it came back, there was a strange smell. Students were taken to the auditorium while the fire department checked it out.

The power outage also affected a few nearby homes and the Woodcrest Chapel. There was no damage and no injuries.
