No obvious signs of foul play in death of Jefferson City woman

Her friend found her unresponsive Sunday morning and alerted authorities

A 20-year-old Jefferson City woman died Sunday morning in her apartment at 12 Jackson Street.

Her friend pulled a medical alarm when he couldn't wake her. Cole County EMS and Jefferson City police and fire responded just after 9 a.m.

EMS and fire personnel tried to revive her, but could not.

There are currently no obvious signs of foul play. The woman's name is being withheld, pending notification of relatives.

An autopsy has been ordered and the investigation will continue.
