JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- The water main that broke on Tuesday left a lot of people without much needed water to do everyday things, but it also hurt a lot of businesses.
Many businesses in Jefferson City, especially restaurants, had to close down for a period until the water pressure was returned to normal.
But the boil advisory remained in affect afterward, and some businesses like Paddy Malone's used purified water from their supplier.
“We get some purified water through them that we can use in our cooking, and for our batters and things of that nature,” said Allen Tatman, the owner of Jefferson City landmark Paddy Malone's Irish Pub. “Then the rest, we boil water. Washing dishes we use a sanitizer system, which we use anyway."
Missouri American Water says they expect the boil advisory to be lifted sometime on Thursday.
