Man pleads guilty in child porn case

In doing so, he avoided a jury trial

A Columbia man is adding to his prison time for child pornography and sex crimes.

Avoiding a jury trial set for Tuesday, Robert Prince III withdrew his not-guilty plea on Monday and instead pleaded guilty to second degree statutory rape and tampering with a victim or witness.

Prince was sentenced to five years in prison on the first count and four years in prison on the tampering charge, to run at the same time.

These charges stem from child pornography videos found on his cell phone.

In August, Prince was sentenced to 20 years in prison on a child molestation charge and endangering the welfare of a child.
