Cole County Judge Pat Joyce has granted a change of venue to a man accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal accident.

Damien Bryan went to court in Jefferson City on Monday, but the judge declared a mistrial
because of a piece of information given during testimony by a drug testing official.

After a request from public defender Heather Vodnansky, the judge agreed to move the trial to Camden County. The case will be heard next month and Joyce will preside.

Bryan is charged with felony murder for driving drunk, failing to yield at an intersection on Route C, and causing a collision with two other vehicles that killed Donald Edwards of Russellville and a woman from Kansas. He faces an additional felony charge for being a repeat drunk driving offender.
