A man was arrested for trashing a house boat.

Osage Beach police went to 5011 Lakeport Drive on Sunday morning after learning about a suspicious man on one of the docks who had been seen entering boats. Officers were told that he was still in a 42’ Chris Craft, a house boat/cruiser.

When police arrived, they could hear the man, later identified as Tanner Morris, inside the boat’s cabin.

Morris was told to exit, but he refused and was seen trying to escape through the engine compartment. He then struggled with officers as they tried to take him from the vessel, and was taken into custody.

Morris had done a significant amount of damage to the cabin area of the boat, and is the suspect in several other incidents of tampering and vandalism throughout the early morning hours.

Morris was arrested on charges of second degree burglary, resisting arrest and second degree property damage. Morris is being held in the Camden County Jail with no bond. Additional charges may be sought.
