A fire broke out early Wednesday morning at a charcoal plant in Belle, with approximately 80,000 pounds of coal getting scorched.

The plant supervisor called in the fire around 4:30 a.m, when he was the only one there.

Fire crews from Vichi, Owensville, Bland and Belle all responded to the fire.

When they arrived, they found the fire spreading between two sheds.

Plant supervisor Roy Beal said that this is the biggest fire he's ever seen.

"It was just a big ball of red fire in both sheds," Beal said.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

The plant in now working with the fire marshal to find out how the fire started and to assess the dollar value of damage.
