Columbia swimmers hear shots fired at Oakland Pool

Police are looking for Cedric Barnum, 28, who is considered armed and dangerous after an incident at the Oakland Park Pool.

Update, 11:40 a.m., 5/29/2012:

The investigation revealed Cedric Barnum brandished a gun and began firing at a group of people he was yelling at in the park. There were no injuries, although a parked vehicle was struck by a bullet.

Barnum got into a vehicle and left the area. A warrant request has been
 submitted to the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for Cedric Barnum, 28, for unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and property damage.

If anyone has any information on his whereabouts please contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-TIPS to remain anonymous. Barnum is considered armed and dangerous.

Columbia Police confirm just after 5:00pm Monday officers were dispatched to a disturbance at the 
Oakland Park Pool at1900 Blue Ridge Road.

Several 9-1-1 callers reported approximately 15 people involved in a verbal argument.

Then several callers reported hearing shots fired in the area. Officers are on scene investigating at this time. Police say no one was injured.

The pool just opened for the season Friday and was scheduled to close Monday at 6pm.
