The rain stopped just in time for almost 300 participants to march three miles for babies at Memorial Park in Jefferson City.
The walk supports March of Dimes organization and raises money to help mothers to have a healthy term pregnancy as well as find answers to problems that threaten babies.
Lisa Feltrop is a local mother that has been supported march of dimes and said, "March of Dimes means a lot to us because our son Kyle was born 9 weeks premature and stayed at the University of Missouri hospital for 5 weeks. If it hadn't been for them and their continued support he might not be here today."
The Feltrop family was named March of Dimes "Ambassador Family" this year.
It is estimated that more than 7 million people will join their family, friends and colleagues in 900 communities across the nation to raise "March for Babies" event awareness and funds in 2012.
