There are a lot of small businesses in Jefferson City, and Saturday morning, several local business owners and those looking to start their own business met at the Capital Event Center off Missouri Boulevard.
It was called 'Start-up Jeff City' and event organizers like Mike Honeywell said it was a great time for entrepreneurs to network, swap ideas, and seek investment opportunities.
"There's an entire entreprenuial subculture here in Jeff City that people don't know about, so we're trying to expose that. [We're trying to] use that to motivate and inspire people to really take the initiative and bring their ideas forward and hopefully help make Jefferson City a different place with a little more energy and opportunities for growth," said Honeywell.
Potential business owners will meet again with the group May 19th to discuss how to put their ideas into action.
