Clouds were swirling in the skies above Norman, Oklahoma today, and then moments later, chaos.
The Mizzou Tigers Baseball Team was in Norman for a game against Oklahoma this afternoon.
They knew there would be some storms, but they didn't expect to be in the middle of what happened. According the the MU Tigers Director of Information Shawn Davis, they were just about to start the game before the tornado touched down.
"By the time we were ready to throw the first pitch, we saw this big storm cell coming. I think we were ready for it, I don't think we were ready for a tornado touching down three miles from where we were though, so it was pretty wild."
Pictures came from the team's twitter, showing the storm as it crept closer.
Then things got a little too close for comfort, as another tweet went out "We are being evacuated from the pressbox so it may be little bit on the next update."
Away from the field, the rest of Norman saw downed power lines, blown out windows at the high school, and significant damage to homes and other structures. A few people were treated for minor scrapes are bruises.
Everyone with the MU Baseball team was alright.
