MILLER COUNTY, MO -- Highway 54 is open to traffic again after a crash involving a school bus sent people to the hospital.

The School of the Osage school bus did not have any students on board when it was involved in a car wreck at Highway 54 and Mount Carmel Road in Miller County. This is about two miles south of Eldon.

Highway patrol troopers had to shut down the highway at one point so two Staff for Life helicopters could land for those injured in the wreck. Emergency crews also said they needed help getting the victims out of the car.

State troopers investigating at the scene would not comment on what happened or the condition of the victims.
