Authorities are investigating an incident in which a couple was badly burned after an argument.

It happened in Saint Charles County on Wednesday.

Authorities say the couple had some sort of dispute.

Afterwards, the wife was reportedly consoling their two children when she discovered her husband engulfed in flames.

The 39-year-old man has life-threatening burns.

His wife suffered some injuries trying to put out the flames.

One of the couple's children was treated for smoke inhalation.

Investigators are looking into what caused the fire and the argument.
