There's a major break in a decades old murder case where a Missouri man is charged in the murder of a Nebraska woman.

45-year old John R. Oldson, of Randolph in suburban Kansas City, is charged with first-degree murder in the 1989 death of 31-year old Catherine Beard, from Ord, Nebraska.

Beard disappeared in 1989.  Her remains were found outside Ord in 1992.

Oldson was arrested Tuesday at his home and is being held in the Clay County Detention Center on $1 million bond.

Law enforcement said Oldson has agreed to waive extradition and will be taken back to Nebraska within the week.
