Kids arrested for string of Eldon burglaries

Update: Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 2:20 p.m.:

The Miller County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of one of the suspects arrested in recent burglaries.

Travis J. Simmons is charged with six counts of second degree burglary. Officers arrested him and three others on Tuesday after finding them in possession of stolen items.

The sheriff’s office and the Eldon Police Department worked together to find the suspected thieves after a string of burglaries in the past month.

Sheriff Bill Abbott says the names of the other suspects will be released as prosecutors file charges against them.

Simmons is in jail on a $150,000 bond. A court date has not been set at this time.

Eldon police arrested several juveniles early Tuesday morning in connection with several recent burglaries.

Police said they responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Radio Shack located in the 1400 block of S. Bus. 54 at 3:03 a.m.

They investigated and linked the burglary to youth in the area. They were taken for questioning by the Eldon Police Department. Eldon Police, the Miller County Sheriff's Department and Juvenile authorities linked the kids to several burglaries in the area.
