A federal jury has convicted a Boonville man of producing child pornography.

The jury in Jefferson City handed down the verdict against 34-year-old Matthew Klopfenstine.

Authorities say he and two other men took an eight year old minor to a Boonville motel to take dozens of pornographic pictures.

The incident occured in June 2009.

The pictures were discovered on a computer three months later when authorities served a search warrant at the home of Michael Martin of Troy, a friend of Klopfenstine.

Under federal statutes, Klopfenstine faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole.

A sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
