On this day in history, Oct. 28, 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis ended.

The agreement for the removal of Russian nuclear weapons on the island of Cuba ended the crisis after two weeks of tension.

Also on this day in history in 1965, the Gateway Arch was completed. The $50 million structure sits in St. Louis and millions of people walk its grounds each year.
