CAMDEN COUNTY, MO -- Update: Friday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.:

Fingerprints alone have not helped officials identify a body found in Camden County this week.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, decomposition was so bad the body could not be identified through fingerprints. However, there are no signs of a traumatic injury to suggest the victim died a violent death.

Investigators have a DNA sample to help them figure out who the man is. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office also is waiting on a toxicology report to determine the cause of death.
