Boone County Fire Investigators say they’ll never know the cause of a fire that killed a man in his workshop.

Authorities officially ruled the cause as undetermined because of the severity of the damage to the building.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental.

Robert Hudson, 72, died in the fire about 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Hudson was trapped in his metal shed near his home in the 5200 block of South Cowan Road.

No one else was injured.

There was no damage to nearby structures.
