Despite a judge's insistence of Derrick Washington's appearance in court on Monday, Washington was not at the Boone County Courthouse for a scheduled hearing.

Prior  to his 1:30 p.m. set hearing, his lawyers said he would not appear and they would ask for a continuance in the case.

The former Mizzou standout running back is charged with deviate sexual assault.

He is accused of entering a former tutor's bedroom while visiting her roommate and sexually assaulting her while she was asleep.

He faces two additional counts of misdemeanor domestic assault after an ex-girlfriend said he hit her in the face and choked her during an argument.

Washington's jury trial has been pushed back several times. It is currently scheduled to begin April 6 at 9 a.m.
