OSAGE CITY, MO -- The storms that swept through Friday afternoon and evening left quite a surprise for residents in Osage City.

Residents said they thought the ground was covered in snow, but found out real quick it wasn't.

It hailed so hard in Osage City some residents thought they received at least an inch.

The hail wasn't very large, but it sure did shock a lot residents.

“The hail was so hard and so bad that it hit the trees and was knocking the branches off and stuff like that. When we got home the ground was pure white,” Osage City resident Fred Robinson. “I was just shocked because in the 20 years of living here I may have this just one other time."

Robinson said he is thankful he didn't have siding because it sure would have been damaged.
