JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Cole County Judge Pat Joyce has pushed back the trial of murder suspect Alyssa Bustamante.

The St. Martins teenager is charged in the death of nine-year-old neighbor Elizabeth Olten in October of 2009.

The case had been scheduled for trial on May 16, with a jury imported from Springfield.  But  Joyce rescheduled jury selection for June 1.

The court will also consider a motion to bar television and radio coverage of the trial.

That came on a joint request from the prosecutor and Bustamante's lawyers, who met with the judge behind closed doors Thursday (2/17).

During that meeting, another item of discussion was the release of some of the Cole County girl's greeting cards and clothing, which prosecutors are holding as evidence.

A hearing on the motion to bar the electronic media from the trial is set for March 16th.

No cameras will be allowed in the courtroom while the attorneys argue that motion.

Do you think cameras should be allowed in the courtroom?
