Attorney General Chris Koster has filed his brief challenging the western missouri judge who found convicted killer Dale Helmig innocent.

Helmig was convicted in the 1993 death of his mother in Osage County.

The court has given Helmig's defense attorneys 15 days to file thier reply. Lawyers said they won't wait that long to file.

Helmig's attorneys said they're also waiting on a ruling from the court of appeals on the motion to release Helmig on bail.
