A Mid-Missouri man wins a giant Powerball jackpot; and he does not have to share it with any other ticket buyers.

Chris Shaw no longer has to worry about paying the bills. The Marshall convenience store worker won the biggest jackpot in Missouri history: $258.5 Million.

It's also the 10th biggest Powerball jackpot ever nationwide.

Shaw bought a five-dollar ticket at the BreakTime where he works after his shift ended Wednesday. He let the Powerball ticket machine pick the numbers.

When he heard his store had sold the winning ticket, he checked the numbers on the internet and discovered he had won.

Late this afternoon, Shaw met with reporters at the Missouri Lottery headquarters in Jefferson City.

Shaw is 29. He told reporters he was living paycheck to paycheck and that he had less than $30 in his bank account when he find out he won.

He bought an old truck last night on credit. But now he says he might consider upgrading to a nicer truck.

The BreakTime on West College Street in Marshall will receive $50,000 for selling the winning ticket.

Shaw says he will seek financial advice before deciding whether to take his prize in 30 yearly payments or in one lump-sum payment worth about $125 Million before taxes.

If Shaw chooses to take the lump sum amount, the state will receive $6 Million in state income taxes.
