JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Update: April 19, 2010 at 2:55 p.m.

Police and family have confirmed that Micah J. Rooney, 34, was found in a truck in a Gerbes parking lot Thursday, April 15.

Rooney is a member of the Missouri National Guard.

Ronney was born in Springfield and attended Jefferson City High School.

Jefferson City Police believe that the death is suspicious and have ruled out suicide.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim in fear that it will ruin the investigation.

Police are waiting for the autopsy and toxicology reports to move forward with the investigation.

An autopsy has been completed on the body found Thursday in the parking lot of Gerbes at the east end of Jefferson City.

The autopsy confirms that the body found in the passenger seat of a black truck is a man.

Boone County medical examiner has turned over the report to the Jefferson City Police. More details will be available soon.
