TAOS, MO. -- It's one of ten of schools in the country to win your favorite school contest.

Friday morning the contest sponsor, U.S. Cellular surprised students at St. Francis Xavier School in Taos, Mo. announcing that the school will receive $100 thousand.

U.S. Cellular representatives ran into each classroom with congratulations.

"My heart was just racing, so, so excited I couldn't believe that it actually came true. We dreamed so hard," Parent Tammy Sachse said.

"Everybody worked together, and we got a new gym floor,” 6th Grader Garrett Kliethermes said

The program is described as a chance for communities to show they believe in quality education.

Almost 7,000 schools competed nationwide.
