JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri transportation officials say most of the state's busiest roads are in good shape.

The Department of Transportation issued a report Monday rating 86 percent of the most heavily traveled roads in good condition.

The agency says that's largely because of a 2004 constitutional amendment that steered more money into roads and bridges and triggered a construction boom. Before the constitutional amendment, the agency says less than half of the busiest roads were in good shape.

Transportation officials say some of the new revenue produced by the amendment was spent to improve 2,200 miles of the most used roads.
