COLE COUNTY -- Three of the eight suspects in a robbery gone bad in Cole County have plead not guilty in court Monday.

Daniel Hynson, 22, of Jefferson City is accused of being the mastermind behind the Apache Flats robbery that left one man dead. He appeared along with Leetez Hawkins and Terry White, both of Kansas City.

All three men face charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action. Hyson and Hawkins have a trial tentatively scheduled for March. White must appear in court again for a continuation of his arraignment.

The robbery happened early last month in the Apache Flats area just west of the Jefferson City limits.

Hynson was arrested a day later in Holts Summit.

In all, eight people have been arrested in the home invasion, investigators say the plan was to rob the residents of the Apache Flats mobile home, but when the suspects broke in, three residents fought back, with one fatally shooting suspect Lamar Gardner of Kansas City.

The suspects made off with about a $1,000.

Several of the suspects are from Kansas City.

Hynson's girlfriend, Lauren Douglas, and Gardner's girlfriend, Natasha Wray, both face charges as accessories to the home invasion.
