RANDOLPH COUNTY -- The water patrol recovers the body of an 18-year-old Randolph County man from a rural strip pit.

Highway patrol reports show Jamey McCubbins of Clifton Hill wrecked his car around three in the morning Saturday on Route W.

His vehicle went over the embankment and into the strip pit, a sort of pond that is created after coal is mined from the area.

McCubbins and his vehicle were found submerged.
