CALLAWAY COUNTY -- Callaway County investigators said that a house explosion Saturday that killed a woman and her infant son originated in the kitchen.

Investigators suspect the cause was either the propane stove or the pipe leading to it.

Investigators said they do not suspect foul play.

Medical examiners performed autopsies today on Amber Smith, 20, and her four month old son Simon. The autopsies showed the two died from wounds consistent with an explosion.

Smith's husband was not home at the time of the blast.

The explosion happened late Saturday afternoon on county road 144 near Williamsburg.
