CALLAWAY COUNTY -- The man accused of a brutal chainsaw attack at a mid-Missouri homeless shelter has been found not-guilty by reason of mental disease.

Matthew Watkins, 30, faced four charges of assault and armed criminal action stemming from the January 2008 attack at Reverend Larry Rice's mid-America Care Center in Callaway County.

The sheriff's department said Watkins attacked two men with a knife and two others with a chainsaw, all the men survived.

A judge committed Watkins to the department of mental health.
