MISSOURI CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Clay County authorities are sifting through two acres full of stolen property found near a secluded home in Missouri City.

The items discovered on Tuesday included everything from pickups, light farm equipment and vehicles. Investigators found six railroad containers, one of which was filled with unopened appliances.

Sheriff Bob Boydston says the area was "the Home Depot of stolen property." Boyden says the thefts occurred throughout the region. The items found were estimated to be valued at several hundred thousand dollars.

A woman was arrested at the home and officers were looking for a man who was seen fleeing the property. An 8-year-old boy living with them has been placed with social workers.

Deputies made the discovery after a neighbor called to report that someone at the home had fired shots at her dog.
