JEFFERSON CITY -- Residents voted on four school bond issues across mid-Missouri. Read the proposition as seen on the ballot and see the results.

Sturgeon R-5 School District:

Shall the Board of Education of the Sturgeon R-V School District, Missouri Board of Education borrow money in the amount of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000), resulting in no estimated increase to the debt service property tax levy, for the purpose of providing funds to complete improvements to the elementary and middle school facilities including new roofing, window replacement, walkways, canopies, new brick and brick replacement and electrical system upgrades; to test and remove asbestos; to complete other capital improvements district wide as approved by the Board of Education; and issue bonds, a portion of which may include Qualified School Construction Bonds and Qualified Zone Academy Bonds in an amount not to exceed the allocation from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $1.27 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

Harrisburg R-8 School District: 

Shall Board of Education of the Harrisburg R-VIII School District, Missouri, without an estimated increase in the current debt service property tax levy, borrow money in the amount of One Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,300,000) for the purpose of providing funds to complete the necessary facility improvements, repairs, energy efficient upgrades, and technology enhancements to school facilities; and issue bonds, a portion of which may include Qualified School Construction Bonds and Qualified Zone Academy Bonds in an amount not to exceed the allocation from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $1.15 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

North Callaway County R-1 School District: 

Shall the Board of Education of the North Callaway County R-I School District, Missouri, borrow money in the amount of Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,500,000) for the purpose of providing funds to complete heating, ventilation and air conditioning upgrades; to complete safety and security, remodeling and repair improvements to the existing facilities of the District in accordance with the recommendations of the District Facilities Planning Committee; and issue bonds, a portion of which may include Qualified School Construction Bonds and Qualified Zone Academy Bonds in an amount not to exceed the allocation from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, for the payment thereof resulting in an estimated increase to the debt service property tax levy of $0.07 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to increase from $0.5922 to $0.6622 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

Russellville R-1 School District:

Shall the Board of Education of the Cole County R-1 School District, Missouri borrow money in the amount of Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000), resulting in no estimated increase to the debt service property tax levy, for the purpose of providing funds for the construction of a new track; to complete heating, cooling and electrical upgrades and safety, security and technology improvements to the District’s facilities; to complete other remodeling and repair improvements to the existing facilities of the District; and issue bonds, a portion of which may include Qualified School Construction Bonds in an amount not to exceed the allocation from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.88 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.

Camden County Public Water Supply District No. 1

Shall the Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Camden County, Missouri, issue its waterworks system special obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 for the purpose of constructing, enlarging, extending, improving and equipping the waterworks system of the District, the cost of operation and maintenance of said system and the principal of and interest on said revenue bonds to be payable solely from the revenue derived by the District from the operation of the waterworks system, including all future expansions, extensions and improvements thereto? The authorization of such special obligation bonds will authorize the collection of net rates, fees and charges for the use of and services provided by the acquisition, construction and equipping improvements, replacements and extensions to the District’s existing waterworks system sufficient to pay the costs of operating and maintaining the waterworks system, to pay the principal of and interest on said special obligation bonds as they fall due, and to provide for and maintain all contractual
