Seven Missouri firefighters who died in the line of duty last year will be honored on a national scale.

Those men will be recognized in a tribute by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in Maryland. It marks the beginning of National Fire Prevention week.

Fire departments across the country will be holding simultaneous services.

The Missouri victims include a Sedalia man who suffered injuries in a fire, three men who died from heart attacks, one helping during a tornado, and two who were shot to death in the St. Louis area.

Those seven were honored by Missouri officials in May.
