The Cole County prosecutor is still deciding whether to seek the death penalty against the man accused of murdering a Jefferson City couple.

Mark Richardson has charged David Russell Hosier, 54, in the shooting deaths of Angie and Rodney Gilpin early Monday.

Jefferson City detectives went to Oklahoma yesterday, but were not able to interview Hosier because he invoked his right to an attorney and refused to make a statement.

Court documents show Angie Gilpin sent her landlord a notice saying Hosier was stalking her and said she wanted to move.

In a petition for an order protection against Hosier, Gilpin indicated she and Hosier were romantically involved while she was separated from her husband.

Investigators said the Gilpins were reconciling and that may have motivated hosier to violence.
