LACLEDE COUNTY -- UPDATE: Monday 9:30pm

A mid-Missouri woman charged in the burning death of her baby could face the death penalty if convicted.

Miller County prosecutors filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty Monday in the case against Christina White of Iberia. She appeared Monday in Laclede County, where the trial is scheduled to take place, for a pre-trial conference.

Her 7-month-old baby, Wayne Anderson Jr., died in the summer of 2007, three weeks after White allegedly set his blanket on fire and left the room.

White was 24-years-old when she was charged with first-degree murder in her son's death.  Authorities said the child suffered second and third-degree burns over more than 60 percent of his body.  A trial date is set for June.
