Fire crews believe the cause are tires in the building

KINGDOM CITY -- UPDATE 4 A.M. TUESDAY:

Part of a Kingdom City Petro Lube that was destroyed by fire last night re-ignited early Tuesday morning near the Petro-Mart.

Fire crews worked until 3:00 a.m. to put out the first blaze that started Monday night just after 8:00 p.m.

Crews were called back a half hour later at 3:30 a.m. when the fire engulfed the building again.

A lube bay, near the convenience store was on fire. Crews from the North Callaway Fire District worked to put out the flames and the Columbia Fire Department assisted with a truck that sprays fire-suppressing foam.

"We're gonna try to get the tires taken care of first, the things that keep rekindling. We used approximately 120,000 gallons tonight," said North Callaway fire spokesperson Sterling Mitchell.

Fire officials say other oil and chemicals in the building could've contributed to the re-ignition.

Cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but so far fire officials do not believe there is any foul play.

No one was hurt.
