A special Jefferson City Countil meeting has been called for Thursday morning.

According to the meeting's notice, the meeting is to discuss budget issues, resignations and morale.

Two of Jefferson City's top officials announced their resignation Tuesday.

The resignation of public works director Roger Schwartze will become effective April 1. The city's first communications manager, Michelle Gleba, announced her resignation would take effect March 26.

Schwartze began working for the city in January 2012, while Gleba has been there since March 2010.

Gleba served as the city's spokesperson and managed its social media accounts. She also provided internal and external communications.

"My reason for resigning is to focus on new opportunities and to spend more time with family," Gleba told KRCG 13. "I have truly enjoyed working for the city."

City Administrator Nathan Nickolaus said Schwartze was "a tremendous asset to the city during his tenure, implementing innovative and cost-saving initiatives as public works director," according to a news release.
