Sid Sullivan supporters held a rally at Columbia City Hall.

Sullivan is running again for Columbia mayor.

Incumbent Mayor Bob McDavid defeated Sullivan in 2010.

Supporters carried giant keys to symbolize that Sullivan is the key to Columbia’s future.

During the last Columbia mayoral election, there were six candidates to replace retiring Mayor Darwin Hindman.

Sullivan said he’s confident he can win this year’s race because he has better odds.

“I think the one candidate that was successful, was really well funded," Sullivan said. "I have a much better funding base this year.  We will be able to provide a very competitive campaign.”

Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid announced he would seek re-election last month.

Voters go to the polls on April 2.
