(AP) -- Gov. Matt Blunt Wednesday sent a letter to Missouri prosecutors offering his support in their efforts to enforce a state law against illegal immigration.

Blunt spotlights a state law that declares employers of illegal immigrants ineligible for state tax credits, tax abatements, or loans.

Such employers can also be fined a jailed.

Blunt says Washington has failed to deal with the problem.

A new internet database simplifies the tracking of employers who receive state tax credits.
