BOONE COUNTY -- Nineteen employees who work at the Columbia Airport Office of Lockheed Martin are losing their jobs.
The Columbia location is one of six flight service stations the company plans to close as part of cost cutting measures.
The workers provide non-commercial "general aviation" pilots with weather updates and flight path information.
Two of the 19 employees will stay at the station - located between the terminal and the post office facility at the airport - after it closes in February to maintain air traffic radio equipment through August.
